It's always a pleasure to go and see India Electric Company perform and last night was no different. Having seen them perform at Downend Folk Club back in 2014 I volunteered to head back for their return performance and take some photos. This time around I also dragged along my friend Emma who is on a mission to attend 40 gigs during her 40th birthday year (she's doing rather well as it happens - you can catch up with her shenanigans over on her blog).
It was so great to catch up with Cole and Joe, albeit briefly - I haven't seen them properly since before they headed off on tour out to Australia and New Zealand! But when I arrived at the venue I had another unexpectedly good surprise when I realised that Jack Cookson would be the support act. I haven't seen Jack since I was over at Monnow Valley Studios where he was performing on Hattie Briggs latest album so it was great to see him again.
Downend Folk Club are always a friendly and welcoming bunch and it was lovely to be back again for such a wonderful evening of entertainment. All in all it was a great night with great music and great company. Here are some of my favourite photos from the night. For more, please take a look at the gallery.
