Mark Brimson set up the Gloria Brimson Foundation in memory of his late wife who died 10 years ago. This year, Mark has decided to honour her memory by undertaking a 130 mile walk from Plymouth to Bristol, starting at the Plymouth Argyle Home Ground and finishing at Bristol Rovers Memorial Stadium. The walk (which will take place over the course of this week) has been gaining lots of support and is raising funds for Headway, Bristol.
Last night I jumped on a train down to Plymouth in order to document the start of their walk. After being given a very encouraging send off from the Plymouth Argyle ground, I accompanied them for the first two miles before waving them on their way. The were battling the elements today and got thoroughly drenched but they continued to smile throughout. So that's one day down... only four more to go!
If you would like to find out more, including how to donate then please head over to Mark's fundraising page. Here is a little glimpse into how it all started this morning including the loading up of the "battle-bus", the photo call on the Plymouth pitch and the first few steps of their epic adventure!
