For week six, the theme was "details". Knowing full well that my schedule was jam-packed and there was no way that I would be able to dedicate any time to capturing images of anything else, I decided to photograph various details during my time at Monnow Valley Studios. I was actually rather excited about this. During these shoots its easy to focus purely on the people but it is often the other little details that can really bring a place to life.
I would like to think that this is one of my strongest abilities in photography. Whether I am shooting a wedding, a portrait or an event, I am always on the look-out for "details" - the elements that make it unique. At Monnow Valley I was keen to capture things like the sound-desk, microphones, cables, sheet music etc... items that would probably seem rather every-day and mundane to people that are there all the time but, from an outsiders perspective, they can add a whole extra dimension.
Similar to week two (when the theme was "monochrome") this evolved into a mini-project and it didn't seem quite right to post just a single image. Instead I have again created a nine-image montage. I'm definitely enjoying the themes much more when I am able to turn them into mini-projects like this! I think I might aim to do at least one of them every month.
