When I meet with potential brides and grooms, I feel that one of my biggest selling points is the fact that I provide images on a CD so that they are able to share their wedding photos as many times as they require. Of course providing a CD or DVD is becoming a lot more common-place for photographers as it is definitely what couples are looking for nowadays. In a digital age where almost all wedding guests are carrying a smartphone (if not a decent camera), couples want the freedom to share their own, professional images online and to be able to print them at a moments notice without the hassle of contacting the photographer to order a print or two.
And so CDs have become the norm and over the past few years I have regularly asked myself how I can make my product stand out. When I first started doing weddings, the packaging of the CDs caused me no end of headaches. I searched and searched and searched for that perfect product often feeling that I would never find anything that was quite right. I knew I wanted to provide the CD in a folio of sorts but everything I seemed to find was either boring, too old-fashioned or nowhere near special enough! Luckily for me (and my clients!) I finally came across the perfect product and to steal a line from M&S, this isn't just any CD!
Every single CD I provide is unique. I design them myself using images from each individual wedding and I try to incorporate colour schemes and themes as much as possible. I take a lot of time over each design to ensure that every single one is perfect yet I am still amazed by the quality and feel of every single folio I order. The magnetic closure and padded finish of each folio is really just the icing on the cake (so to speak!). This year has been my busiest wedding season yet and last week I actually had three folios in my possession at the same time and so I took the opportunity to snap a few photos of them before they were carefully packaged and posted to my clients who I hope will love them as much as I do!
