Being based in Wiltshire, most of the weddings that I cover tend to be around Bristol, Bath and the Cotswolds. However, on occasion I am asked to travel further afield and I am always excited to do so.
A few weeks ago I headed up to Shropshire to photograph Charlie and Liam's wedding at Shrewsbury Castle. I was lucky enough to be able to capture Charlie's preparations before the ceremony. The house was abuzz when I got there and more and more people arrived throughout the course of the morning. Despite all of the hubbub it was a very relaxed morning and with so many people in the house I managed to capture one of my favourite shots from the whole day when Charlie appeared in her dress to be greeted by a hall-full of friends and family!
Despite arriving to photograph Charlie's preparations in the drizzling rain, by the time I departed to head over to the ceremony I was actually driving towards bright blue skies! The rain just served to make the colours much more vivid and with the amazing blue sky as a backdrop the castle looked stunning! It was such a lovely day and I even got a little choked up during the speeches (which coincidentally featured a fantastic "How I Met Your Mother" reference!).
